    Chemical Make-up of Emu Oil:

. It has no long chain fatty acids.
. It contains no steroids or hormones.
. It lacks phospho-lipids – this makes it highly penetrating.
. It is an almost completely neutral, almost 100% triglyceride lipid.
. It is high in oleic acid – this increases it's ability to carry big-active compounds through the skin.
. It has a biologically active yellow compound. The polyunsaturated fatty acid content of emu oils unrelated to findings because chicken fat is higher in polyunsaturatated fats yet showed a lack of inflammatory activity. Chicken fat is white – emu fat is yellow.
. It is unique in that, although it is a short chain fatty acid in appearance, it acts and has all the properties of a long chain fatty acid – this gives it a longer shelf life.
